A leadership culture exists at MTC. It is continuously developed by school administrators, through our empowered faculty, and within the minds of our amazing students. Our Pastors, Principal and Officers are here to guide our school towards the vision laid out in our strategic plan by releasing the energy and potential within the MTC community. We are in good hands.
Our school staff are indispensable to the interworkings of Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School. Our students’ safety, diets, physical and mental health are paramount and these people ensure they stay that way.
If you are part of an MTC family, you are part of our Home & School Association. And being part of HASA is a good thing. Now all you have to do is raise your hand and come have some fun!
Our mission revolves around the advancement of Catholic education and the welfare of all the school children of this parish, the promotion of parent-school activities to increase interest in educational and civic affairs, and enhancement of the parents’ and teachers’ role in the education process by providing an opportunity to work together for the good of our children. Volunteerism is part of the Catholic School experience, and (trust us!) you will likely find you get more out than you put in.
To see that through we rely on the ever-amazing stream of generosity that pours in from our MTC families in the form of time and effort. Donating your time and talents can take many forms. You might become a homeroom parent, where you would work with the teacher to provide fun activities, classroom parties and special events throughout the year. You could join or chair a committee that manages the various fundraising and social events we have during the year. It is a perfect opportunity to meet other parents / community members and socialize while raising money for our students and simply having fun. We ask that each of you make a commitment to get involved. You won’t regret it!
We are in. We’re all in. We are committed to MTC, to our supporting parishes, to Catholic Education, to our community and to your children. We are intent in partnering with the Parish Pastors, MTC’s Principal and its Leadership Team to ensure a long and prosperous future for this school. The concept of a Board of Limited Jurisdiction (BLJ, or “The Board”) is an evolution from the Advisory Boards of the past in Archdiocesan schools. We are here to crystallize a strategy, then support its implementation and execution. Plain and simple. In terms of how we do that, it helps to understand what will make us successful and a value-add to MTC.
At MTC, our amazing teachers set high expectations for their students and do not give up on any child who is struggling to meet them. They are equally organized and adaptable – both accountable to MTC’s curriculum standards and to the diversity of their classrooms. Our teachers – rich in educational achievement, valuable certifications and deep experience in their respective fields / grade levels – challenge and engage students, forming creative thinking environments. In turn they ask students to ask “why” and challenge the status quo. They build classrooms forged in respectful relationships amongst the students and are acutely in tune with possible threats to children’s well being, be it bullying or otherwise. Finally, our faculty insist on openness and transparency with parents, communicating often around performance, calendars, expectations, etc.
