New National Report Shows Catholic Schools Continue to Outperform Public Schools

At Mother Teresa Regional Catholic School, we know that faith and academics go hand in hand. Now, new national data confirms what our MTC families see every day, that Catholic schools truly make a difference.

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as The Nation’s Report Card , recently released its 2024 results for reading and math. Once again, Catholic schools across the country outperformed public schools at both the 4th and 8th grade levels.

If Catholic schools were considered their own state, they would rank #1 in the nation in both reading and math achievement!

The report also found that:

• Catholic school students scored higher than public school students in both subjects and at both grade levels.

• Students in Catholic schools had fewer absences, contributing to stronger academic outcomes.

• Across demographic groups, Catholic school students consistently achieved higher scores than their public school peers.
